4 mistakes you need to know while you are in PCT, the post-cycle hormone-recovery phase.
1 — Starting too early, while hormones are still active in your body.
Many people are afraid of losing muscle, so they start PCT immediately, ignoring that there are still active hormones in their body and still elevated androgens in the blood. And as long as androgens are high, real recovery of your own hormones is impossible — so you have effectively cancelled a PCT that was broken to begin with. The point is that every substance you put into your body takes time to clear, and the correct start is after androgens reach zero. That timing is determined by a lab, not by guesswork.
2 — Taking an androgenic compound during recovery.
Some people take DHT-class compounds after the cycle, thinking they help natural testosterone production, or that they prevent aromatization. This is wrong from the root: these compounds are strongly androgenic and send your body the very same suppression signal you are trying to escape. It is like telling yourself "I will restore my natural hormones" with something that shuts down their natural production. You are in a phase where external androgens are supposed to leave, not rise.
3 — Misusing synthetic stimulators of your own hormones.
There are drugs that act as a synthetic stimulator of the hormone that triggers LH and FSH. The problem is that an excess dose can do the exact opposite and suppress your natural production instead of stimulating it — because the same drug is actually used to suppress pituitary hormones in entirely different medical conditions. And on its own it is not enough: it needs monitoring of estrogen and prolactin, and all of that is a decision and a dose you take back to a doctor and labs, not something you run alone by guesswork.
4 — Using HCG at the wrong time.
People introduce HCG after the cycle thinking it performs recovery. But it only gives a temporary signal, and it raises estrogen again — so while you are supposedly in a clean-up phase, you are pushing your estrogen back up. And when its effect wears off, everything returns to being shut down just as it was. Its correct place is at a different point in the journey, not here — and that timing is determined medically.
And the most important thing in all of this: the lab is what tells your body whether testosterone is working or not, whether estrogen is in range or not, whether liver function is fine or not, whether prolactin is high or not. And a semen analysis is what tells you whether you have sperm and their motility.
It is not a post from me, or from any coach or doctor, telling you "do this" that means you succeeded at PCT. This is not a game, it differs from person to person, and your labs are your only guide.
